On January 27, 2025, Egypt’s Prime Minister ,Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, issued a decision appointing Dalia Abdullah Mohamed Al-Baz as the Chairperson of the National Postal Authority for a one-year term.
This comes after Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, appointed Al-Baz as the Ministerial Advisor for Postal Affairs in October 2024, entrusting her with the responsibilities of the Chairperson of the National Postal Authority.
Dalia Al-Baz is a distinguished banking executive with nearly 30 years of experience in risk management, operations, IT, corporate governance, and corporate banking.
Her tenure as Vice-Chairperson of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) was marked by a strong strategic vision, with a proven track record in transforming banking operations through digital approaches.
Al-Baz led the successful implementation of a new banking system at NBE, enhancing the bank’s operational capabilities. She also established the operational risk management and business continuity functions within NBE, fortifying the bank’s risk management framework.
Before becoming Vice-Chairperson of NBE in September 2017, Al-Baz served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of IT from December 2015 to 2017. She also headed the Operational Risk Management Group at NBE between 2008 and 2015.
Her prior experience includes managing operational risk and risk control units at Barclays Egypt from 2004 to 2008, and overseeing corporate client relationships between 1995 and 2004.
Al-Baz has earned notable recognition for her contributions to the financial and banking sectors, ranking 13th in Forbes Middle East’s list of the Top 100 Most Powerful Businesswomen in both 2023 and 2024. Additionally, she was ranked 20th in the magazine’s 2018 list of the Most Influential Women.
Al-Baz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
