Minister of Labour, Hassan Shehata, announced on Monday the launch of a professional certification programme to increase skilled Egyptian workers working in Saudi Arabia.
According to a government statement, the certificates will help counter fake certifications and provide legitimacy to Egyptian workers looking for jobs overseas. The minister reaffirmed Egypt’s ability to train workers to satisfy the demands of both domestic and foreign labor markets and expressed confidence in the program’s success.
The certification program is the outcome of a deal that was made in October between the two nations with the goal of assisting Egyptian laborers in fulfilling the standards set by Saudi Arabia’s Professional Accreditation System.
According to the minister, the program marks a turning point in Saudi-Egyptian ties and will improve the caliber and productivity of the Saudi labor market.
