The event brought together over 2,000 girl guides from 18 governorates, underlining the movement’s enduring role in advancing female leadership and community engagement across generations.

Two ministers—Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, Minister of Parliamentary, Legal Affairs and Political Communication, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports—joined the celebration, emphasizing the government’s commitment to cultivating active citizenship and empowering girls to contribute meaningfully to national development.

He added that the state prioritizes the full participation of young people—especially girls—in shaping the future, and in building leadership capacity that can carry Egypt forward on its development journey.

Women’s Civic Participation

Established in 1925, the Egyptian Federation for Scouts and Girl Guides has long been a cornerstone of youth development—nurturing leadership, promoting volunteerism, and advancing female participation in public life. Over the past century, the federation has played a pivotal role in national identity formation, civic education, and inclusive development.
