Against the scenic backdrop of Egypt’s North Coast, the third round of the 2025 EasyKart Trophy Egypt concluded this week at Curve Karting One Eleven Circuit in New Alamein, marking another milestone in the country’s growing commitment to motorsports.

Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Matrouh Governorate, and supervised by the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club—Egypt’s official representative to the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA)—the event drew a high-energy mix of professional drivers, karting enthusiasts, and international competitors.

Backed by a coalition of private sponsors and partners, including global karting powerhouse Birel ART, the race weekend highlighted Egypt’s ambition to integrate its local racing scene into the international motorsport ecosystem.

National Sprint Championships Launch in Tandem

In a significant development, the weekend featured the simultaneous launch of two national-level sprint championships—each sanctioned by the FIA’s International Karting Ranking (IKR) system, allowing drivers to earn points toward global standings.

This round was particularly notable for hosting the opening rounds of two national sprint championships, both officially ranked under the FIA’s International Karting Ranking (IKR). The first, held in the N35 category, featured karts equipped with 9-horsepower engines, typically used in recreational settings but adapted here for competitive racing. Despite being entry-level machines, the category saw intense racing action, with Adham Hamada securing victory, followed by Omar Sherif in second and Bilal Sawabi in third.

Simultaneously, the ROTAX category made its debut with karts powered by 22-horsepower engines, offering a more demanding and professional racing experience. Yasser Fahmy emerged victorious in this faster, more competitive field, with Bilal Sawabi—who impressively podiumed in both categories—taking second, and Omar Sherif again stepping onto the podium in third.

Beyond the national sprint championships, the event concluded with the final races of three distinct age and skill-based classes: 60cc Beginners, 100cc Juniors, and 125cc Seniors. These races drew a diverse group of participants, including two international drivers from Ukraine, reflecting the event’s expanding appeal. In the 60cc category, Ukrainian driver Herman Biloshyshenko claimed the top spot, ahead of Omar Shalaby. The 100cc class saw another Ukrainian, Andrii Krohlyk, dominate the race, followed by Egyptians Youssef Roshdy and Mohamed Rateb. In the senior 125cc class, the podium was all-Egyptian, with Yassin Attia taking first place, Malek Hafez in second, and Hassan Ahmed securing third.

With future rounds scheduled for August and October, the 2025 EasyKart Trophy Egypt is expected to maintain its fast pace, providing young Egyptian racers with a platform to compete, improve their international rankings, and position themselves on the global karting stage.
