During BEBA’s Trade Mission to the United Kingdom: EGX Deputy Chair Emphasizes Importance of Strengthening Ties with Global Financial Institutions

As part of the official Egyptian delegation participating in the trade mission organized by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) under the theme “Egypt’s New Era: Investment Opportunities”,   Deputy Chairperson of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX),Heba El-Serafy, reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to fostering stronger cooperation with international financial institutions to support sustainable economic growth and attract greater volumes of foreign investment.

Participating in a series of high-level discussions, panel sessions, and official meetings, El-Serafy showcased the strategic reforms and modernization efforts undertaken by the EGX to elevate the Egyptian capital market’s competitiveness and transparency.

She also welcomed the growing interest from global financial institutions to expand their presence and engagement in Egypt’s capital market—an encouraging sign that supports market deepening and liquidity enhancement, both key priorities for the Exchange.


Driving Market Liquidity and Attracting New Listings

In her remarks across various forums, El-Serafy highlighted the EGX’s forward-looking strategy aimed at:

  • Enhancing market depth and liquidity.
  • Attracting new companies to list on the Exchange.
  • Expanding the participation of institutional investors.
  • Supporting sustainable finance and ESG-driven investments.
