Dr. Sabah Mashali Appointed as Deputy Minister of Electricity

Coinciding with the announcement of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly’s new government ministerial formation, Engineer Sabah Mashali’s assuming the position of Deputy Minister of Electricity, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, in the new government, has been widely celebrated within the electricity sector.

She is a former student of Dr. Mohamed Shaker, the former Minister of Electricity. She is known for her exceptional efficiency and good reputation among her colleagues, earning her the support and appreciation of all workers in the electricity sector.

Notably, Engineer Sabah Mashali is the first woman to be appointed as Deputy Minister of Electricity. She also made history as the first woman to lead the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company following the Ministerial Resolution issued by Dr. Mohamed Shaker in January 2019.

After graduating from Cairo University’s Faculty of Engineering in 1986, where she excelled, Mashali began her career at the university before joining the electricity sector in 1989. Throughout her career, she held various positions and even had the opportunity to participate in leadership programs at Harvard University.

Her dedication and competence led her to hold the First Undersecretary position at the Ministry for Performance Development and Political Communication. Furthermore, she is actively involved in several boards and councils within the electricity sector, both nationally and internationally.
