Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, and Poland’s Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Krzysztof Pater, co-chaired the first session of the Egyptian-Polish Joint Economic Cooperation Committee. This session marked a significant milestone in the revival of bilateral economic relations after a 30-year hiatus.
Key Areas of Collaboration
The meeting culminated in the signing of a protocol aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two nations. The protocol outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation across 16 key developmental areas: ICT and Smart City Development, Investment and Private-Sector Collaboration, and Environment and Renewable Energy
Other sectors included in the agreement are health and pharmaceuticals, space, higher education, agriculture, trade, transport, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), water resources, tourism, internal trade, and housing.
Strengthening Ties with a High-Level Delegation
To follow up on the agreement, a high-level Polish delegation is set to visit Egypt in the first quarter of 2025. Comprising investors, business leaders, economists, and government officials, the delegation will explore economic opportunities, advance partnerships, and help implement the outcomes from the inaugural session of the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee.
This protocol signals a new chapter in Egyptian-Polish relations, offering a pathway for mutual growth, knowledge exchange, and long-term collaboration in critical sectors.
