She went on to obtain her PhD in music in 1987 and became a respected professor at the Cairo Conservatory. Over the years, she inspired countless students, shaping the careers of many notable pianists.

An accomplished performer, Issa graced prestigious stages across five continents, including performances in Austria, the United States, Italy, and Morocco, and was invited to perform at the European Union headquarters in Lisbon.

Her extensive list of accolades includes awards from the Association of Music for Youth in Cairo and the Stephanov Prize in Vienna. In 2019, the BBC International Corporation named her among the 100 most influential women in the world.

The Cairo Opera House had recently scheduled her performance for February 8, which will now stand as a testament to her enduring legacy. Issa’s funeral took place on Saturday, with tributes pouring in from the music community and beyond.
