Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine Among Top Contenders for Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026

Reflecting its longstanding legacy and institutional leadership, the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University has qualified as one of the top five faculties representing the university in the prestigious Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026, following a highly competitive internal evaluation across the university’s faculties.

This milestone is in line with the strategic direction adopted by Cairo University under the leadership of Professor Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, which places strong emphasis on enhancing educational quality, improving academic services, and reinforcing governance and institutional development.

Professor Hossam Salah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, expressed deep pride in the college’s advancement, describing it as a culmination of sustained efforts and a clear institutional strategy. He noted that this achievement was made possible through the collective contributions of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, all committed to driving continuous improvement and excellence.

The Faculty of Medicine has a strong track record in the Egypt Government Excellence Award. It previously secured second place in 2019, followed by eighth place in 2020, and then fourth place in 2022. In the 2024 edition, the faculty ranked among the top ten institutions nationwide, reinforcing its position as a leading center for medical education and academic innovation in Egypt.

This latest recognition positions the Faculty of Medicine as a national model in academic excellence and institutional performance, and further solidifies Cairo University’s standing as a beacon of higher education in the Arab world.
