The British Council’s Creative Economy Policy Training Programme has successfully concluded its second cohort. This initiative has equipped 25 policymakers from the Ministries of Planning and Communication with the practical skills to integrate the creative economy and support its role in achieving inclusive growth and strengthening Egypt’s creative industries.
The program, designed for civil employees at various levels, provided comprehensive training in crucial areas, including economic innovation, enterprise development, and the role of creative industries in placemaking and inclusive growth. This knowledge will enable participants to formulate and implement effective policies that strengthen the creative sector in Egypt.
British Council Director in Egypt, Mark Howard, emphasized the significance of the creative economy as a driver of economic growth and social innovation. By building capacity within the government and fostering a shared vision for a vibrant and inclusive creative economy, the program aims to benefit all sectors of society in Egypt. The trained policymakers will play a vital role in shaping strategic frameworks for the creative sector, advocating for its importance, and raising awareness of its contribution to economic and social innovation. These efforts will ultimately support Egypt’s creative ecosystem and contribute to its long-term development.
