Dr. Maggie Nasif, Executive Director of Fulbright Egypt, recently led pivotal discussions with Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH), to forge a strategic collaboration aimed at elevating Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System through education, research, and capacity building.

At the Authority’s headquarters, Dr. Nasif outlined Fulbright Egypt’s commitment to providing specialized scholarships for healthcare professionals in critical fields such as population health management, digital health systems, data analytics, and health policy administration. This initiative seeks to empower the Authority’s workforce with advanced expertise aligned with global best practices.

Under her leadership, the partnership will also facilitate the deployment of American experts to conduct targeted workshops on healthcare marketing, institutional management, policy formulation, and joint scientific research on disease control. These efforts aim to foster innovation and resilience within Egypt’s healthcare framework.

Dr. Nasif emphasized expanding awareness of the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship among healthcare staff, promoting access through tailored training programs that enhance application success and global networking skills.

She also proposed organizing a roundtable involving Egyptian Fulbright alumni in healthcare to leverage their knowledge in supporting GAH’s mission and ensuring sustained collaboration.

Expressing enthusiasm for the alliance, Dr. Nasif highlighted the transformative potential of this partnership to build lasting educational and research bridges, driving sustainable growth and development in Egypt’s health sector.
