Beheira Governor, Dr. Jacqueline Aza, affirmed the governorate’s commitment to intensifying awareness sessions on government financing and support programs, emphasizing the importance of empowering youth and women to launch their own businesses and contribute to local economic growth.
As part of this effort, the Local Unit of Kom Hamada, headed by Maj. Gen. Abdelaziz Qattato, organized an extensive awareness seminar introducing participants to the national “Mashroak” program and the Local Development Fund, in cooperation with the governorate’s Community and Human Development Unit.
Spotlight on “Mashroak”: A Key Financing Route for MSMEs
During the session, officials highlighted the role of the National Program for Community, Human, and Local Development — “Mashroak” under the Ministry of Local Development, noting its position as one of Egypt’s most important financing pathways for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
The program operates in partnership with leading national banks, including:
- National Bank of Egypt
- Banque Misr
- Banque du Caire
- Agricultural Bank of Egypt
Participants were briefed on the application process, required documentation, and financing mechanisms available to new entrepreneurs and existing small-business owners.
Supporting Young Entrepreneurs and Expanding Job Opportunities
Officials underscored that “Mashroak” aims to:
- Support youth in establishing new enterprises
- Create job opportunities across local communities
- Provide temporary operating licenses
- Offer low-interest loans throughout the financing period
- Promote a culture of entrepreneurship and economic independence, especially among women and young people
These incentives are part of the state’s broader strategy to strengthen local economies and expand income-generating activities in rural and urban areas.
More Seminars Planned Across Beheira
The governorate announced plans to continue launching similar awareness sessions across additional cities and centers in the coming period. These events will explain eligibility criteria, present real-life success stories, and facilitate direct engagement with representatives from partner banks, the National Council for Women (NCW), and other relevant bodies.
