Brentford Women’s First Team’s new Egyptian goalkeeper, Azza Fouly, remains in Egypt’s senior squad ahead of two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Senegal; Fouly most recently participated in two World Cup qualifiers for her nation’s Under-20 squad against Congo.

Over the past three months, the goalkeeper has already appeared in five matches for Egypt’s U20 team.

In a 1-0 victory over Morocco in a friendly match in October, Fouly made her debut for the U20 team by keeping a clean sheet. She continued to play for the youth team in two more matches against Sao Tome in the World Cup qualifying tournament, keeping clean sheets both times as Egypt won 7-0 and 11-0.

The starting center for Brentford has not yet played for Egypt’s senior team, but he was included in the team for both of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against South Sudan.

The U20 team’s first-leg World Cup qualifying match against Congo ended in a 1-1 draw on November 10 under captain Fouly’s command. On November 17, the keeper made a comeback appearance in the match, which Egypt won 6-0 in the second leg.

Fouly will now play with the senior squad in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches on November 27 and December 4 against Senegal.
