Azizi Developments, one of the UAE’s leading private real estate developers, has unveiled its Burj Azizi Global University Exposure Program, designed to share Dubai’s cutting-edge achievements in architecture and engineering with future generations of global builders. The program was officially launched on January 26, 2025, with the arrival of a group of 8 students and 2 faculty members from the renowned American University of Cairo (AUC). This group is the first of many international university students set to participate in the program, which spans over four years.
The Burj Azizi Global University Exposure Program seeks to engage students from diverse engineering disciplines worldwide, providing them with an immersive, real-world learning experience in the application of advanced architectural design, sustainable construction methods, and technological integration in building projects. The program’s overarching goal is to inspire the next generation of engineers and architects by sharing Dubai’s remarkable engineering achievements on the global stage.
The visiting group will have the opportunity to tour the site of Burj Azizi, which is currently under construction and is expected to become the world’s second tallest tower upon completion. During their 10-day stay, students and faculty will receive lectures and participate in guided site visits that will provide in-depth insights into the project’s various engineering aspects. These include structural and civil engineering, architectural design, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, interior design, and overall project construction planning.
In addition, the students will engage with senior executives from Azizi Developments, including Mr. Kang Sang Ku, the Executive Director of Burj Azizi. A renowned South Korean engineer with over 30 years of experience in managing the construction of high-rise projects, including the Burj Khalifa, Mr. Kang is overseeing the development of Burj Azizi to ensure it meets the highest global standards in technology and construction practices.
Mr. Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, expressed his pride in welcoming the first group of international students. The program, which will continue through to 2028, is set to host students from around 100 countries, with the United Kingdom, India, and several others already lined up to participate. The visits offer an invaluable opportunity for students to explore the engineering techniques that are propelling Dubai’s status as a global leader in construction innovation.
Mr. Azizi also emphasized the international interest the program has generated, calling it a tribute to Dubai’s leadership and vision, particularly the foresight of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. “It fills me with pride that universities from across the globe want to learn about the Burj Azizi project. We are honored to contribute to His Highness’ vision for Dubai as a leader in innovation and ambitious undertakings,” he said.
Upon completion, Burj Azizi, a 131+ story tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, will feature a seven-star hotel, luxurious residences, penthouses, apartments, and holiday homes, all inspired by seven cultural themes. The tower will also include a luxury shopping mall, wellness centers, swimming pools, and a host of other premium amenities, making it one of the most ambitious and visionary projects in Dubai’s ever-evolving skyline.
