AUC Launches “Training of Trainers for Sustainability” Workshop in Beni Suef to Advance Women’s Economic Empowerment

The American University in Cairo’s School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) kicked off a new executive education initiative on Saturday, November 22, 2025, launching a workshop titled “Training of Trainers for Sustainability” at the National Council for Women (NCW) headquarters in Beni Suef.

The workshop forms part of the national program “Women’s Economic Empowerment for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth in Egypt – Rabeha: Training for Employment (TFE)”, which aims to equip women with market-relevant skills and expand their access to economic opportunities across governorates.

 Intensive Skills-Building Program

Seventeen male and female participants from Beni Suef joined the training, which focused on developing the personal and professional competencies needed for effective training and community-level capacity building.

The curriculum covered:

  • Characteristics of high-impact, effective training
  • Differentiating between presentation and facilitation
  • Tools and methodologies for measuring training effectiveness

After the workshop, participants to become certified trainers capable of delivering sustainable, community-centered training programs.


A Joint Initiative Led by UN Women and UNIDO

The Rabeha program is implemented under a joint initiative between UN Women Egypt and UNIDO Egypt, in partnership with:

  • The National Council for Women (NCW)
  • The Ministry of Trade and Industry

It is supported by the Government of Canada, represented by the Embassy of Canada to Egypt, as part of Canada’s commitment to advancing women’s economic participation and inclusive growth.

Program leaders noted that the initiative aligns with Egypt’s national development priorities and aims to strengthen employability, support entrepreneurship, and expand training opportunities for women in underserved regions.


Supporting Women’s Skills, Careers, and Economic Inclusion

Through its Training for Employment model, the Rabeha program works to bridge skills gaps, improve job readiness, and empower women to secure stable, sustainable income. The “Training of Trainers for Sustainability” workshop further strengthens the program by building a pipeline of qualified trainers who can replicate and scale impact across Upper Egypt.

AUC GAPP Executive Education continues to partner with national institutions and international agencies to support inclusive development, workforce empowerment, and long-term community resilience.
