At the opening ceremony of the eighth annual Aswan International Women’s Film Festival, Dr. Ghada Abu Zeid, Deputy Governor of Aswan, was honored with the prestigious Aswan Lady Award.
This annual award recognizes the outstanding contributions made by a woman from the Aswan governorate in the fields of public and development work. It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the recipient in advancing the community and improving the lives of its members.
The Aswan Festival Administration has confirmed that Dr. Ghada Abu Zeid, the first female Aswani woman to serve as the deputy governor, is set to receive an honor for her outstanding contribution towards the Aswani society through her diligent work. Furthermore, she has been a vocal advocate for women’s issues in the governorate.
Dr. Ghada Abu Zeid has had a distinguished career in the field of science. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering, where she specialized in computer and systems engineering. Her academic accomplishments include a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in computer engineering and science from the esteemed Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology.
The upcoming 8th Aswan International Women’s Film Festival is scheduled to take place from April 20 to 25. It is noteworthy that Tunisia has been selected as the guest of honor for this year.
