Arab Rugby Sevens Championship 2025 Set to Kick Off in Alexandria

The highly anticipated Arab Rugby Sevens Championship 2025 will take place on February 14-15 at the historic Alexandria Stadium, marking the tournament’s 10th men’s edition and the 5th women’s edition. This year’s competition promises to be a significant milestone, with 12 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams from across the Arab world set to compete.

The event will feature a specially designed rugby ball by World Flair, inspired by Arabic motifs to reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. Along with its traditional design, the ball meets international standards of performance and quality.

Women’s Teams and Pools
The women’s tournament will feature 7 teams, with Tunisia entering as the defending champions after clinching the title in 2024. Teams from Tunisia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt will compete, showcasing the growing strength of women’s rugby in the region.

In Pool A, defending champions Tunisia will face Syria, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. Pool B includes UAE, Egypt, Jordan, and Tunisia as well. The Egyptian women’s team, under the leadership of captain Hala Qoura and coached by Romzy Al-Zaghulami, has consistently finished in the top three since the tournament’s inception and will be aiming for the title on home soil.
