Amb. Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of Egypt’s National Alliance for Civil and Development Work, reaffirmed the alliance’s unwavering commitment to delivering urgent humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, reflecting the priorities of Egypt’s leadership and the country’s deeply rooted solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In a phone interview with Extra News, Makram emphasized that the alliance is acting in full alignment with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, ensuring rapid and effective aid delivery to civilians in Gaza. She noted that the coalition’s actions represent both a national obligation and a humanitarian imperative, driven by a collective sense of moral responsibility shared by Egyptians.

Makram highlighted that President El-Sisi’s recent public statement on Gaza came at a critical moment and clearly articulated Egypt’s historic and principled stance. She described the president’s remarks as a reaffirmation of the country’s enduring support for the Palestinian cause, adding that his speech reflected the “honest and faithful efforts” Egypt continues to make to alleviate suffering in the region.

She further underscored that the ethical and humanitarian character of Egypt’s foreign policy is clearly evident in the ongoing relief initiatives, all of which have received full presidential backing. Egypt’s approach, she noted, is grounded in values-based diplomacy and a commitment to regional stability and humanitarian solidarity.

The National Alliance for Civil and Development Work, a unified platform of over 30 Egyptian NGOs and development organizations, has been instrumental in mobilizing humanitarian convoys, coordinating aid logistics, and ensuring that supplies reach those in need through the Rafah border crossing.

Since the onset of the latest crisis, Egypt has facilitated the entry of hundreds of aid trucks, delivering essential food, medical supplies, and emergency equipment to Gaza. The country’s strategic role as a humanitarian corridor has earned broad international recognition and underscores its consistent advocacy for de-escalation and the protection of civilians.
