In celebration of Alexandria’s National Day, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced that all archaeological sites and major museums in Alexandria will be open free of charge to the public on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

This initiative, announced by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy, includes the Graeco-Roman Museum, the Royal Jewelry Museum, and the Alexandria National Museum, among other historical sites across the city.

Promoting Cultural Awareness and Domestic Tourism

The decision comes as part of the ministry’s broader efforts to engage with national and cultural celebrations, while highlighting Egypt’s rich historical legacy. It also aims to enhance archaeological and cultural awareness, particularly among younger generations.

Celebrating a City of Timeless Heritage

Known as one of Egypt’s most iconic coastal and historical cities, Alexandria offers a unique blend of ancient landmarks and Mediterranean charm. The city is home to centuries-old treasures that reflect its significance through the Pharaonic, Hellenistic, Roman, and modern eras.

The Ministry emphasized that events like this contribute to making cultural heritage more accessible to the public, while also supporting Egypt’s tourism strategy by showcasing the country’s diversity and depth.
