Minister Rania A. Al-Mashat, who oversees the Ministries of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, held a meeting on Tuesday with Ambassador Christian Berger, the head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss important areas of collaboration for the upcoming period, the progress of the Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA), and the associated structural reforms.
This meeting marks the first interaction between the two parties since the merger of the Ministries of Planning and International Cooperation. Minister Mashat emphasized that the primary focus would be on advancing the economic reform agenda, with a particular emphasis on healthcare, education, and industrial development.
This entails overseeing public investments, ensuring the effective implementation of the investment plan across different regions, as well as fostering coordination and coherence among ministries and government institutions.
The overarching goal is to promote inclusive growth, attain economic development targets, stabilize the macroeconomy, and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
