Al Baraka Bank participated in the activities of “Pink October” or Breast Cancer Awareness Month, taking place in October of each year, within the framework of the “El Baraka Fiki” initiative launched by Al Baraka Bank at the beginning of 2023 due to the bank’s belief in the pivotal role of Egyptian women, which is considered a fundamental focus in society, and in continuation of its ongoing support for the Baheya Foundation.
The initiative comes from the bank’s keenness to raise community awareness of early detection and prevention of breast cancer and to enrich active participation in Egyptian society to enhance community development, provide support for breast cancer fighters, and empower Egyptian women at all levels.
On World Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the bank lit up its headquarters in pink, the official color of the awareness campaign, in addition to various activities carried out by the bank and its female employees during October, including organizing a visit to Baheya Hospital to provide moral support to cancer fighters and conducting early examinations for female employees over the age of 40, as well as organizing an awareness session.
Furthermore, Al Baraka Bank inked a cooperation protocol with the Baheya Foundation during a recent awareness conference. Mustafa Al Arousi, Executive Vice President of Al Baraka Bank, and Tamer Shawky, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, signed the protocol in the presence of members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and a team from the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department.
This protocol states that the bank will sponsor 100 chemotherapy sessions in recognition of the magnitude of the positive impact the Baheya Foundation makes on the lives of female warriors.
