Amid the rising demands for specialized emergency care, Ahl Masr Foundation for Development has signed a landmark cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Agricultural Bank (EAB) to support the Ahl Masr Hospital for Burn Injuries.
The agreement highlights the bank’s commitment to its societal responsibility and national role in supporting pioneering healthcare initiatives. Under the terms of the protocol, the bank will provide funding to equip the hospital’s triage room within the emergency department, as well as the patient waiting area of the outpatient clinics. This contribution is set to bolster the hospital’s capacity to deliver high-quality, free medical services to burn victims from across Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa.
The protocol was officially signed by Dr. Heba El Sewedy, Chairperson of the Ahl Masr Foundation and Mr. Mohamed Abou El Saoud, CEO of the Egyptian Agricultural Bank. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials including Sami Abdel Sadeq and Ghada Mostafa, Deputy CEOs of EAB, and Ms. Ghada Tawfik, Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for CSR, along with key representatives from both the bank and the foundation.
Following the signing, the EAB delegation toured the hospital, gaining insights into the sophisticated medical services provided around the clock. Hospital staff presented detailed explanations of the facility’s cutting-edge treatment protocols and the life-saving work performed in its emergency and critical care units.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Abou El Saoud described the partnership as a reflection of the bank’s core values and ongoing mission to uplift healthcare services across Egypt. “This protocol embodies our national duty and our commitment to sustainable community development. Supporting Ahl Masr Hospital is a natural extension of our role in empowering the healthcare sector and ensuring broader access to emergency medical care,” he stated.
He noted that the triage room to be funded by the bank serves over 3,500 patients annually, while the outpatient clinic’s waiting area accommodates approximately 22,000 patients and their families each year. “By focusing on these high-traffic areas, we’re maximizing the impact of our support, contributing to timely and effective interventions that can be the difference between life and death for burn victims,” Abou El Saoud added.
Dr. Heba El Sewedy expressed her deep gratitude for the partnership, calling it “a meaningful step forward” in expanding the hospital’s services. “The support from the Egyptian Agricultural Bank empowers us to complete the second phase of the hospital and accommodate a greater number of critical cases,” she said. “This is more than financial support—it’s a genuine expression of solidarity and a powerful boost to humanitarian healthcare in Egypt.”
Also speaking at the event, Ms. Ghada Tawfik from the Central Bank emphasized the strategic role of Egypt’s banking sector in advancing sustainable development goals. She praised the collaboration as a model for impactful CSR that bridges the gap between private sector resources and urgent public health needs.
Ahl Masr Hospital—already recognized as a regional hub for burn treatment—will expand its reach and capabilities, supported by a financial institution investing not only in capital, but in human dignity and survival.
