The Israeli occupation forces arrested the prominent 22-year-old Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Monday.
“Ahed Tamimi was arrested on suspicion of inciting violence and terrorist activities in the town of Nabi Salih” near the city of Ramallah, an army spokesman told AFP.
“Tamimi was transferred to Israeli security forces for further questioning.” the statement added.
Tamimi became famous at the age 14 for biting an Israeli soldier to stop him from arresting her little brother who had his arm in a cast.
She is an icon of the Palestinian cause for another incident where she slapped an Israeli soldier raiding her home, and got arrested afterwards for incitement
During her trial the Israeli judge asked her how did you slap the soldier to which she responded “untie my hands and I’ll show you how,”
Since Israel’s war on Gaza following the October seven Hamas attack, violence against Palestinians in the West Bank has increased.
Even though the West Bank is not under Hamas’ control, Israel raided dozens of homes, arresting and killing a number of civilians.
According to UN figures, daily settler attacks have more than doubled since October seven.
More than 150 Palestinians in the West Bank were killed since the seventh of October, killed by Israeli soldiers or by settlers
