Abeer Khedr Shares Perspectives on Banking Cybersecurity Amid Digital Transformation at Black Hat Campus 2025

 Group Head of Cyber Security at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Chair of the Cyber Security Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Banks (FEB), Abeer Khedr,  participated the Black Hat Campus 2025 summit, underscoring Egypt’s leadership in the banking cybersecurity sector.

Leadership Amid Transformation

On Tuesday, December 2, Khedr will participate in a session titled “The Next Generation of Information Security Officers: Leadership through Talent, Disruption, and Transformation.” Experts in this session will discuss effective strategies for leading the sector, managing technological disruptions, and building trust within teams. The session will also explore how to nurture emerging cybersecurity talent.

Cyber Resilience Strategies

On Thursday, December 4, Khedr will participate in another session, “Unbreakable Resilience: Shaping Cyber Resilience and Ultra-Fast Incident Response in a Hostile World,” held under the Woman in Focus initiative. This session will examine strategies for building strong systems and teams capable of withstanding high-pressure situations and responding rapidly to cyberattacks. The session aims to provide practical steps to enhance cyber resilience and sharpen incident response capabilities—crucial in today’s highly hostile threat landscape.

Black Hat Middle East & Africa 2025

The new edition of Black Hat Middle East & Africa 2025 kicked off today in Riyadh at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Malham, running through Thursday. Organized by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones, in collaboration with Tahaluf, the event attracts more than 45,000 participants and over 450 exhibitors from around 140 countries to discuss the future of digital protection amid rising AI-related threats and tightening global regulations.

This year’s event covers key topics including autonomous security operations, threat intelligence analysis, digital trust, post-quantum readiness, operational technology and IoT risks, cybersecurity insurance, and escalating cyber conflicts. The program features the Executive Summit, Financial Summit, Black Hat Briefings, Deep Dive sessions, Campus programs, Women in Focus, CISO workshops, and Arsenal labs—offering practical insights to strengthen institutional digital defenses.
