This unique initiative, dubbed “Rowing for Egypt 2024,” is part of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion’s (EGATP) efforts to diversify the country’s tourism offerings.

The project aims to showcase Egypt’s stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, while also raising awareness about the importance of preserving the Nile River. Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, emphasized the alignment of this project with Egypt’s broader strategy to collaborate with foreign embassies and highlight the country’s tourism potential. He noted that the initiative is expected to attract a significant number of sports tourism enthusiasts and contribute to the overall growth of the tourism sector.

The “Rowing for Egypt 2024” project is being carried out in cooperation with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cairo, the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, and Aspire Company, under the auspices of several Egyptian ministries. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in promoting tourism and sustainable development.
