According to a trustworthy medical source in North Sinai, the Rafah border crossing received 17 wounded Palestinians and 18 of their companions traveling from Gaza hospitals to obtain medical care in Egypt.

Ambulances rushed eight of the injured to Arish General Hospital while nine others were transported to the Italian Hospital in Arish.

The official noted that the Rafah border crossing will continue to receive the injured Palestinians and treat them at the hospitals in North Sinai, Ismailia, Port Said, Suez, Cairo and Giza.

The injuries of the wounded Palestinians included fractures and wounds to the head, eye and body.

The wounded Palestinians were transported from hospitals in Gaza to North Sinai via Rafah by Palestinian ambulances.

Since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, Egypt has received dozens of injured Palestinians for treatment in its hospitals; most of them children, while the rest are women.

In late November, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population launched an initiative to treat 1,000 children wounded in Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip.

Israel has so far killed over 20,000 Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, and wounded thousands more.

Egypt has been pushing for an extended ceasefire in the war-torn strip and sustained access to humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of civilians there.
