Senegal’s capital, Dakar, will be the second African city—since Cairo—to host the newly revamped FIBA Africa Women’s Basketball League.
The Association Sportive Ville de Dakar will play as hosts of the annual tournament from December 6-15.

Twelve teams from different corners of the continent are expected to participate in the event.
Alexandria Sporting Club are the title holders after beating Kenya Ports Authority in the final last year in the Egyptian capital.
Except for the hosts Association Sportive Ville de Dakar, teams will participate in qualifier tournaments scheduled to take place from October to November.
Schedules for the Qualifiers tournament are as follows:
FIBA Africa Zone 3: Monrovia, Liberia (29 October to 3 November).
FIBA Africa Zone 4: Douala, Cameroon (27 October to 1 November).
FIBA Africa Zone 5: Zanzibar, Tanzania (27 October to 2 November).
FIBA Africa Zone 6: Maputo, Mozambique (Schedule to be determined).
