About Me

Sylvia Menassa is the Chief Executive Office of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. Prior to this position, she was the Operations Director as she followed up the implementation of the AmCham’s programs worldwide, including promoting Egypt’s trade relations with the United States as well as the policies enhancing the private sector business environment. Menassa has joined the AmCham in 1990, and since then she played a key role in coordinating all high-profile meetings between Egyptian and U.S. officials and businessmen. Before this, Menassa received her PhD in Biophysics from Georgetown University. She was a professor at the American University in Cairo. She earned her master’s and bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Solid State Science from the American University in Cairo.
