Mervat Hataba

Mervat Hataba is the Chairperson of the Holding Company for Tourism & Hotels – HOTAC. She has graduated from Ain Shams University in Commerce and she has got a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
Hataba’s work at HOTAC started gradually; she worked first at the Technical Office and the Planning and Follow-up Department. Then, she was named as Managing Director and later an Acting Chairperson afterwards, until, she has been finally appointed as the Chairperson late 2012.

Hataba was able to revert the company’s losses incurred during the fiscal year 2013- 2o14, of EGP 333 million to a net profit of EGP 105 million pounds during the financial year 2015. In addition, she managed to complete a number of major projects of HOTAC subsidiaries, including the inauguration of Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Moreover, Hataba has taken a new approach in managing the untapped assets of the company through participating with the private sector to earn profits.
