About Me

May ElBatran was elected on October 2015 to represent the district of Giza as an independent. She was on the political office representing women in The Coalition of the Support of Egypt, the parliament’s majority group. She was elected as Egypt’s youngest ever Chair of the added Communication & Information Technology Committee in the Egyptian House of Representatives. ElBatran serves on the boards of the Egyptian Red Crescent and on the Egyptian Junior Business Association. EJB and acts as Vice President of the Middle East Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship MCSBE. May donates her consulting expertise to the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeddah, she is a member of the Arab Thought Forum ATF in Jordan under patronage of his royal Highness Prince Hasan Bin Talal and of the Arab Sustainability Leadership Group ASLG. She founded and chairs the CSR arm of the family group; People Development Foundation PDF to promote youth employ-ability, entrepreneurship, innovation and empowerment. She founded and is a board member of the Egyptian Federation for Electronic Games EFEG in 2010 which became a member of the International Electronic Sports Federation IeSF. Prior to serving in the Egyptian House of Representatives, May was the Founder & CEO of TMA Education Management, Investment & Development, TMA is the first education & training company in Egypt to be awarded the integrated quality management system (ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007) and the 18th member of the United Nations Global compact network in Egypt. Dr ElBatran served as the Academic Advisor and International Relations Officer of the High Institute for Specific Studies HISS a family owned educational bachelor granting institution with over 15 000 students established in 1994. May kicked off her education in the French catholic College De La Mere de Dieu, received her bachelor of pharmacy from Cairo University, her PhD in technology health policy from Swansea University, Wales and is in a continuous state of learning and life exploring. She was born on May 25th 1975.
