About Me

Ghada, former CEO for Treasury , Foreign Relations and International Financial Services at the National Bank of Egypt. She has assumed this responsibility since Nov. 2016 where she has been tasked to set the strategy and lead the teams’ efforts in the Treasury, Financial Institutions, Non-Bank Financial Institutions , Debt/Capital Markets, as well as International Loans Unit. She became in charge of Front Office Custody in Oct 2018. Focus is placed on meeting the set goals and in contributing to the bank’s overall profitability. In her current role, she also provides support to the Heads of National Bank of Egypt’s different Branches and Representative Offices. In addition to her responsibilities, she is a member in Executive Committee, Asset & liability Committee, and Financial Institutions Senior Credit Committee. She is also a Board member in El Mostakbal for Urban Development and Suez Canal Container Terminal. Ghada was the Group Head of Foreign Relations and International Financial Services and has headed the Foreign Relations and International Financial Services Units at National Bank of Egypt since joining the bank in Jan.2013. Ghada has 30+ years of Banking experience. Prior to joining National Bank of Egypt, she held several key positions within Citibank Egypt. She ended her term in office at Citibank as Co-Head of Banking for Egypt and Senior Government Banker focusing on the Financial Institutions, Non- Bank Financial Institutions , Public Sector Corporates and Government entities. Her main responsibility was leading the team’s efforts in managing the relationships and identifying opportunities in the Public Sector, Financial Institutions and Government Sectors. She also worked with the Citibank Country Officer in addressing franchise related issues and interfaced with regulators and authorities. Among the main positions she held within Citibank were Oil and Gas Unit Head (04-07), Deputy Treasurer & Head of Treasury Sales and Derivatives Marketing (93-04) and Citibank Egypt Country Treasurer (88-93). Recently she has participated in several events, including but not limited to: Member in the First Panel in the International conference entitled “Arbitrating Banking and Finance disputes: A new Paradigm” Member in the “Gender-Smart Investing: Integrating Women Into the Investment Value Chain for Better Returns” organized by the AmCham`s Women in Business Committee. Ghada is Egyptian and holds a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
