About Me

Dr. Nisreen brings a vast experience as a Professor of parasitology in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University. Nisreen has completed her Ph.D. in 1994. She is a leading specialist in fish parasites. In this regard, she holds the position of General Secretary of the Association of Egyptian Veterinary Medical Society of parasitology. Her scientific interests include problems related to parasitic diseases and pollution in fresh water and marine aquacultures. She is an active participant in international scientific conferences and symposiums. She is also an editorial board member and reviewer in various scientific journals. She chairs the Egyptian Society of parasitology and pathology of Aquatic Animal. She also acts as Deputy Chairman of the Disaster and Crisis Management Unit and the Head of Training and Development Unit at the Faculty of Veterinary. In 2021, Nisreen was appointed as an Adviser to the Fayoum Governor. On the international level, she has been an organizing committee member of Oceanography conferences in the USA and the International Conference on Water Microbiology and Novel Technologies, in Vienna Austria. She also has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the Arab Federation for Sustainable Development and Environment since 2017. In recognition of her outstanding editorial efforts, she received 3 awards for international publication from Cairo University; this is in addition to certificates of appreciation for outstanding performance and dedication.
