About Me

I am a holder of Doctorate of business from the Maritime Academy of Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport and a Master’s in International Business Administration from Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées (ESLSCA) Business School in France. In 2005, I received a Fulbright professional development Scholarship (Hubert Humphrey Fellowship) and enrolled at Rutgers University in New Jersey to study Public Administration. In 2017, I obtained a research grant from the United Nations University and published a working paper and a policy paper on green work opportunities in the agricultural waste sector in the Arab Republic of Egypt. In 2019, I received a scholarship from the Sawiris Social Foundation and enrolled in the Executive Business Administration Program at Booth Business School in Chicago. I’ve a vast experience in the public sector; I worked at the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MPED), Ministry of environment, Ministry of Urban Renewal and Informal Settlements and The Informal settlements Fund under the Cabinet of Ministers. Besides my permanent as a public servant, I currently provide consultation services in the field of sustainable development to the international donors involved in Egypt. On top and above, I have an ample experience in the private sector. My career of over 20 years, most of which in managerial capacity, has actually commenced in 1994 in the private sector. Prior to joining the public sector, I have had a substantial international development experience with many organizations, among which the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as the Egyptian-Italian Cooperation Office. This miscellaneous experience from being at the heart of all three sides: the public, the private sector, and development, has been a great asset in my professional life as it allowed me to have insights from within each of them, and know what each of the sectors wants and prioritizes, which leads to better management of relationships and ease of establishing valuable partnerships, maximizing everyone’s benefit
