About Me

Almost 30 years of experience in the field of finance, fund management, sustainable development, poverty reduction, women & youth empowerment and expansion of MSME’s access to finance. Contributing in the restructuring of the micro finance sector within the national context, and the development of new strategies, business plans and coordination with stakeholders including ministries, CBE, governmental & non- governmental organizations involved in the micro finance activities. Member in the Board of Trustees for supervising MFIs activities in the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and a Board Member of the Egyptian Micro Finance Federation (EMFF) mandated to avail NFS & TA to MFIs.  Also a member of the MF Insurance Committee established under the Egyptian Insurance Federation. Led the negotiations & design of all donor’s agreements related to MF funding and received high recognition and recommendation from the World Bank. Pioneered in programs innovation to maximize access to MF services, and improving the standard of living and job creation for Egypt’s underprivileged segment. Vast experience in microfinance and MSME development, policy advocacy, impact studies, institutional assessment, and the development of MF regulations and supervision according to good practices. Supported the development capacity building of microfinance institutions, and the development of a policy and regulatory environment that is conducive to an inclusive financial system for microfinance. Supported and stimulated the creation job opportunities via the expansion of MF financial Services. Contributed in setting up the basic guidelines for micro finance nationally & internationally. Contributed in the development of the MSME’s strategy in Egypt. Contributed in the issuance of the MF law and its amendments and the rules and regulation of practicing Micro Finance in Egypt. Highly appraised by the top Management and highly recommended by Donors, international consultants and partner agencies. Volunteering in Social activities in the support of Community & Economic Development for more than 16 years. Graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1987 with a major of Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science.
