Professor of Economics and Director of the Academic Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (Review of Economics and Political Science(REPS) and Vice Chair for the Journal of Humanities and Social Science, Cairo University. Was Vice President of Cairo University, Chair of the Economic Department, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science and the Director of the Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies.

She is also the Vice Chair of Cairo University Alumni ,Board Member of the National Health Insurance Organization, Board Member of the Women Arab Alliance, Member of the Higher Council for Coordination for Economic and Juridical Committee (Higher Council of Universities),  Member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs(National Council of Women), Member of the Pharma-economics Committee at the Organization of Drugs, Member of the  International Association of Institutions for strengthening the Civic Roles of Higher Education and  the UN Working Group on Global Compact for Universities, Founding Member of the MENA Health Policy Forum, Policy Affiliate to the Economic Research Forum (ERF),

Was member of the Consortium for Research in Migration (CARIM) and of the Migration Policy Center and was also Board Member for the Holding Company for Electricity and the Higher Council for Energy.

Since 1994 till 2019 she was directing several research projects at the Social Research Center of the American University in Cairo in cooperation with international and national organizations and was the economic consultant for the Economic Committee of the Parliament and   Has several publications  in national and international  conferences and journals on migration, small business, microfinance, Social Protection, Population ,economic participation of women, Labor market and human resource development.
