
Director of Rowad 2030 Project – Ministry of Planning and Economic Development
Dr. Khalil is currently the “Executive Director” of the Rowad 2030 project, a national entrepreneurship initiative created under Egypt’s Sustainable Development Strategy for 2030 that aims to create a scientific community capable of adopting innovative thinking and supporting the Egyptian Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. Rowad 2030 was awarded and recognized with several prominent international, regional, and national awards, including the UN Best Practice recognition, under her leadership. It was also able to export its practices to several regional countries and serve as a regional hub for entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining MOP, Dr. Khalil worked for UNWTO for over 5 years at the Regional Program for the Middle East (based in Madrid), supporting the UN Sustainable Development Agenda and increasing recognition of tourism’s transformative power in combating global challenges. She was also the Head of the External Relations and Communication Unit at Nexos Alianza (UNAOC-Madrid) for over 8 years. Throughout her career, Dr. Khalil has gained valuable experience in project planning and implementation, while also paying close attention to the role of sustainable development in building civilizations and incorporating it into her scope of work. Not only that, but she was nominated to serve on the board of directors of the international Union for Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue and Peace Education (ADIC) for her outstanding support of cultural integration.
Dr. Khalil also holds a PhD in International Relations from Complutense University, Madrid, in addition to her outstanding experience in strategic planning and implementation for over 12 years.
