Angie Helmi is currently the Chief Investment Officer at Egypt Kuwait Holding, an investment holding company listed on Egypt Stock Exchange and Kuwait Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of US$ 1.5 billion with investments in 5 sectors: petrochemicals, oil and gas development, power generation and distribution, natural gas distribution, insurance and non-banking financial services.   Prior to EKH, Angie was a Chief Investment Officer at Azazy Group and Executive Director of Knowledge Park, a higher education and research park that is being developed by Azazy Group.  Ms. Helmi was a Director at Abrraj, a Vice President at Carlyle’s US$ 500 mln MENA LBO Fund and a Vice President at Citi’s Investment Banking Team covering Egypt and North Africa.   Ms. Helmi has extensive experience in private equity, investment banking and corporate banking with leading global financial institutions including The Carlyle Group and Citibank’s Investment Banking and Abraaj covering Egypt and North Africa.  Ms. Helmi has led the structuring and execution of landmark and award winning corporate finance deals exceeding US$ 15 bln and screened and evaluated potential equity investments worth more than US$ 10 bln in various sectors including healthcare, education, building materials, telecommunications, power, oil and gas, waste management and financial services. Ms. Helmi is a Non Executive Board Member at Delta Insurance Company, Bedayti Microfinance Company, Bedayti Consumer Finance Company and National Electricity Technology Company (Kahraba). Ms. Helmi holds an M.Sc. in Finance from London Business School and B.A. (Highest Honors) in Business Administration and Economics (Double Major) from the American University in Cairo. Ms. Helmi has also completed the courses for certification as Board Member with Institute of Directors (IOD) London.
