About Me

She began her career working at HSBC’s corporate banking department handling accounts in the oil, gas and steel sector. She then started her journey with start-ups as a financial analyst at Flat6labs, Egypt’s first start-up accelerator. In which she succeeded in supporting early stage start-ups raise funds from various angel and institutional investors for over EGP2 million. In 2014, she joined her family business (KAPO Group), working with the group’s Dutch-Egyptian joint venture “Koudijs Kapo Feed” in the agricultural feed industry. During 2016- 2017, she spearheaded the launch of a USD10 million fish feed factory targeting Egyptian fish farmers in Kafr El Sheikh, Sharkia and Behera. As of 2018, the factory is now making EGP 80M+ in revenue and has become profitable in less than 3 years. Kamar was recognized as one of the “Top 50 performing Women in Egypt” under the auspices of former Egyptian Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail and Amwal El Ghad in 2017. After which, she was selected by the U.S. Department of State as one of 30 women in the Sub-Sahran and North African region to represent Egypt in the “African Women’s Entrepreneurs Program” part of the U.S’s International Visitor’s leadership program. Lastly, in 2018 Yasmine was named as a “Distinguished Young Alumni” by AUC, being the youngest to receive the award since its inception. Yasmine Kamar graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC)class of 2011, with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and a minor in Economics.
