Olfat Ghorab has been appointed as Chairperson of the Arab Co. For Drugs Industries and Medical Appliances (ACDIMA) in 2017. ACDIMA is owned by the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Prior to this, Ghorab was the Chairperson of the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA).  Ghorab has more than 41 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She started her career immediately after her graduation in 1975 in the Egy Drug Company, where she grew in positions until she became Chairperson. She also worked as Chairperson and Managing Director of El-Gomhouria for Trading Chemicals and Medical Appliances and Arab Drug Company (ADCO). All the three firms, Egy Drug, El-Gomhouria, and ADCO, Ghorab worked with, are subsidiaries of the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals (Holdipharma), the most prominent public-sector pharmaceutical producer in Egypt.
