In 2005, she joined the UNICEF to work as Children Protection Program Head in Egypt then later became Head of Planning, Follow-up, Assessment Programs from 2007 to 2013. She also worked as Deputy Head at America’s Development Foundation (ADF) from November 1999 to May 2003.
Moreover, El Kabbaj was Strategic Planning Consultant for the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor at the National Population Council.
She has graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University in 1987, then studied Political Economy at the University of Ottawa. She obtained her master’s degree in International Relations from Carleton University in Canada in 1992. She began her career as a Freelance Researcher at Al-Ahram Center for Strategic Planning and at the Defense of Prisoners’ Rights Center.
