Nayera Amin’s appointment to the board of the Housing and Development Bank (HDB) in July 2017 represents just the latest accomplishment in her distinguished career. Prior to this, Amin has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Piraeus Bank Egypt for about seven years before its acquisition by Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait. Amin started her career by joining Citibank in lat She has also held a number of discussion sessions in coordination with development organizations concerned with the economic development file in Egypt. For 25 years, Lamloum has gained a lot of experience in the management of associations and projects, and has served as Operation Director at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt for ten years. She has also worked as Executive Director of the International Economic Forum of Egypt, part of the World Economic Forum, for 10 years.Furthermore, Lamloum served as Executive Director of a Canadian International Development Agency-led project.Lamloum holds a Bachelor of Communications degree from the American University in Cairo and a Diploma of Management from the University of Delaware, USA. She also obtained several specialized certificates from the American Society of Association Managers.e 1976 and stayed there for a staggering 31 years, during which she obtained an MBA with a focus on international business and marketing from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 1981 and considerably moved up the bank’s ranks. She then moved on to become the Chief Business Officer of Bank Audi. She is an AUC School of Business alum and Dean’s Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) member. Since graduating with a bachelor’s in economics from AUC in 1976, Amin has become an authority in the Egyptian banking industry through her hard work and dedication. Her latest appointment as Non-Executive Board Member of HDB is not just likely to be the latest exciting chapter in her stellar banking career, but also adds another board role to her résumé. Indeed, as a School of Business SAB member, Amin is among a select and socially diverse group tasked with facilitating networking, identifying strategic opportunities and fostering development within the School. While she won’t be involved in much of the day-to-day processes, her new position will have her utilize her wealth of experience to play a role in the Housing and Development Bank’s long-term strategies.
