About Me

Maha Baligh, was also the former chief executive officer at Sigma Capital where she had joined in 2015 , and was responsible for developing Asset Management and Private Equity divisions. Prior to this, Baligh was the Chief Executive Officer of Arab African Investment Holding, the investment arm of Arab African International Bank (AAIB), overlooking its Brokerage, Asset Management, and Proprietary portfolio as well as liaison with all other investment operations of the bank. Baligh also worked in EFG-Hermes Investment Bank, as the Head of Asset Management Operation and Head of Proprietary Investments. At EFG-Hermes, she established and managed numerous mutual funds among which: EFG-Hermes Telecom Fund, named the best telecom fund in the world in 2001), Egypt Fund, named the best mutual fund in the world in years of 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2005. She also won the best fund manager in Egypt in 2007 and holds the longest/ best track record of any fund manager in Egypt since 1995. In 1992, Baligh graduated with high honors BA degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo, where she also earned her MBA in 1995. In addition, she has completed a Master of Science in Banking and Financial Support Services from the University of Reading in the UK.
