Maha, Former assistant chairman, managing director, El Taamir Mortgage Company ( AlOula ), Egypt. Has over 30 years of experience working in Banking, Education, and Community Development in both the US and Egypt. Mrs. Maha was working as a Consultant to the Managing Director at Bank Audi-Egypt. She started her professional career in the US at Citibank, Vanguard Financial Institution and Washington Mutual, working in the primary and secondary mortgage market as well as managing several branches in Southern and Northern California until 2000. When she moved back to Egypt she headed the retail branches and wealth management at AAIB. She then started the mortgage department at HSBC and Bank Audi-Egypt. Mrs. Maha is the Ambassador of Goodwill and an active member at United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). She is a member of the committee for Leasing/Mortgage Lending, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at Egypt National Competitiveness Council (ENCC). She was the former Advisor to the Minister of Local Development and currently volunteers at the ministry of Local Development for “Mashrou’ak,” a microfinance project. She was a board member, elected vice chairman and treasurer for Protocol Foundation of Orange County (California), overseeing business development and marketing analysis to promote business (Knocking Door Delegation) and cultural interaction between international visitors and the residents of Orange Country. Mrs. Maha currently trains professionals at the Egyptian Banking institute (EBI) and Arab Academy for Banking Financial Science, and previously trained individuals at AUC, Ain-Shams University and OUDA. She also developed the retail curriculum approved by the Supreme Council of Universities-Egypt in cooperation with the American University in Cairo (AUC). Previously in the US, she conducted business seminars at the University of Southern California on portfolio management and business loans and created a business seminar for Air Touch to train employees on how to assimilate with foreign cultures as well as understand the business protocol in the Middle East. Mrs. Maha was honored a Doctorate Degree for her social and community services within the country. She graduated from Cairo University in Accounting. She has a real estate, insurance and annuity license in the state of California, and is a Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) from Bahrain.
