Hanan Nayel

General Secretary Director ( NE Africa ) – Danone Egypt

Hanan Nayel is a communications and public affairs professional with over 21 years of local and international experience across different sectors such as Health, Chemicals, Education, Cement, Broadcast, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).

She is currently the General Secretary Director – North East Africa (Corporate Affairs-internal & external communications-, Legal, Regulatory) of Danone Egypt, leading stakeholder engagement through the corporate functions of Public affairs, Communications, Legal and Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs, to pave the way for sustainable growth.

Prior to that, Nayel headed the Public Affairs departments of Methanex, Suez Cement Group of Companies (Italcementi Group), Novartis, and the American University in Cairo.

She also developed sustainable social responsibility programs that positively impacted the communities the companies were active in.

Earlier, Nayel worked in the field of Market Communications and Broadcast in the USA, Netherlands, and the Middle East.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications (Journalism) from the American University in Cairo in 1980.
