About Me

Dalia El Baz has been appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), one of the biggest state-run banks in Egypt, in September 2017. She is the first Egyptian women ever to serve this position.
El Baz started her banking career in 1995 in Barclays Bank Egypt in the Corporate Banking and then assigned as the Head the Operational Risk sector, set up the Internal Control division of the bank.
In 2008, she joined the NBE, where she was assigned to head the bank’s Risk Group, then she was appointed as Executive Director for Operations in 2015.

El Baz joined the NBE in December 2008 as part of the team that contributed to the development of the bank’s business by activating the role of the Operational Risk Group, spreading the culture of its business and establishing the business continuity plans and sites. In 2015, she was appointed as Executive Director for Operations in 2015. She supervised the deployment of the new core banking system in addition to the upgrade and centralization of the banking operations adopted by the NBE within the framework of an integrated strategy for the information technology of the bank and obtaining multiple certificates to protect the data of its customers.
El Baz graduated from the American University in Cairo in 1995 Major of Business Administration and minor of Economics and participated in several specialized training courses in banking, management and the development and follow-up of strategies.
